American Girl Kit Doll
Kit Kittredge is another historical doll by American Girl. Kit is a smart, optimistic little girl who is growing up in the big city of Cincinnati. The year is 1931 and times are tough. There are families all around that are losing their jobs and some are having to give up their homes because of financial ruin. And then Kit's life is thrown into bittersweet excitement as her father loses his job as well. Her story is one of learning to save and not waste anything and to not take things for granted.
Of course Kit is still a little girl and she gets into her fair share of trouble as well. But through people she meets she discovers that there are other people who are struggling more than her.
Kit has a strong will and is a very curious girl, but her ability to always see the bright side of things make her an adorable character. It was in 2000 when Kit Kittredge was added to the American Girl collection, and she was sort of a replacement for Felcity dolls, as they were being retired at around the same time.

Kit
Kittredge was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in the time of the Great
Depression. Growing up with not a lot of money is hard, but at least
a hundred times harder during the Great Depression. Through the Great
Depression even the rich became poor, no matter who they knew or what
they had.
Kit underwent plenty of trials and everyday
challenges. Through these challenges she of course learned new
methods of handling issues, and of course better ways of life.
Throughout her life her family really barely got any mercy,
especially from the economy. Once her father loses her job to the
horrible economy Kit begins to see how rough life really is and that
it most likely won't change. The great other side of this is that Kit
is a one of a kind girl, and very often decided to make the best of
things, or at least to the realistic extent that she could do so.
Although referred to as "Kit" in almost all
promotional material and books her full name Margaret Mildred
Kittredge is used, not "Kit". This Nickname of course was
much easier than her full or first name and therefore was developed
in essence rather quickly and agreed upon without resistance.
Kit,
later in 2000 was labeled as the seventh doll from American Girl to
have freckles and short hair as features on her. Then, in 2008 of
July, specially the second of July the first featured film Kit
Kittredge, an American Girl. After this movie was released a lot of
new items were added to Kit's collection as essential pieces that
were also in the movie.
Kit also is the second doll to have
her own Nintendo DS and PC game, crazy right ? These games by Kit
were actually rated pretty high as well for a game or games that
contained minor to full educational based content that is primarily
for kids or teens.
Who would have thought that an American Girl
doll could go so far ? However, as mentioned previously this is not
the first case of it's kind. American Girl has shown the capabilities
of having such results before in the past.
Although many I'm sure
have hoped for such a movement, I'm sure few actually believed it'd
ultimately happen. With such new opportunities as this for American
Girl, the future opportunities are truly inevitably wide.
