American Girl Emily

American girl emilyEmily is the best of friend of Molly McIntire and so is growing up in the same time period.  Emily Bennett is the American Girl character's name who is 9 years old and living with Molly.  Her family had moved to stay with Molly because it was unsafe where she lived before in London, where bombs were dropping day and night.  World War II is in full force and Emily remembers the message from her parents to be a brave soldier for England.  Molly befriends Emily and tries to help her as much as she can, but Emily is a little on the shy side.  But still Molly and Emily become the best of friends.  In 2006 Emily was added to the AG collection and was seen in a Disney Movie in 2006 as well.  Emily is the 11th girl added to the historical collection by AG and she has a book named after her that you can read as well.  Check out some great prices on Emily dolls and books and movies below.

Emily Bennett, 1944

Emily is basically an English girl who gets surprisingly sent to America for a temporary stay with the McIntires for a swift two weeks in their story "Happy Birthday, Molly!". Although enjoying the stay with them ultimately, Emily was not too eager to go and was more than happy upon her return from their house.

Initially Molly is not too fond of Emily and basically assumes the worst of her just from her looks and the "attitude" she thinks she has. However, it was alright because but eventually that gets pretty fixed.

However, within fair time the two bond after realizing they have so much in common, especially their infatuations with the English Princesses. With this going on they also enabled each other to provide each other support, love, and affection, no matter what. Doing this also was the best bet for them, especially during such a time as then with all of the struggling going on. Observing so much struggling, depression, and death so young can really leave a mark as well of course, sadly.

Emily also happens to be the third doll in the very respected and wanted "Best Friends" collection that was available to all interested buyers, and even now through 3rd party resources believe it or not. Emily was released on September 5, 2006. Her release was more so than not created for an an exciting anticipation for her new movie. Creating such a doll and epic new thing would surely create some great potential viewer's to the new movie as well as far as they were concerned of course.

Since technicality still rules, even with American Girl Emily was marked as "Molly's English friend", since American Girl never considered her Emily's best friend, even towards the end.

Emily can be described as having light Blue eyes and light red hair. With her beautiful and mildly original looks she could at least be called rather "original" to say the least, especially her story.

Emily is also often sought out for for her accompanying book "Brave Emily" which is by author Valeria Trip, which was put out for availability in 1944.

The section "Looking Back" in that book also has content and experiences children underwent who were sent outside of Europe for their own safety. This of course being another potentially traumatizing event and therefore very interesting and useful to anyone who can relate, or just wants to see it from such a point of view.
