Josefina Montoya, 1824

Maria Josefina Montoya is from New Mexico. The time that Josefina lived though was when New Mexico was still addressed as Mexico. Maria and her three older sisters basically need to figure out a new way to live successfully and at least relatively happily after their mother recently died and the new arrival of their Aunt, Dolores.

There have been made available plenty of Spanish Phrases and words, along with their definitions. In the back of her little books there's even pronunciation tips for pronouncing the given phrases and words. Something that is highly useful to someone interested in Spanish, or even interested in learning some new Spanish words, phrases, etc.

Josefina's main goal in her stories is to incorporate the past with her future to possibly allow them to handle their mothers death easier. Although, this is of course not a guaranteed method of approach. Dealing with such a harsh thing as she did, the loss of a lost one is very very challenging as I'm sure you can imagine, so she did what she could.

In addition to this, Josefina's main purpose in her books and in general is to encourage family, Mexican culture, and Mexican conditions. Josefina primarily focused on these as she felt they were most important, or useful in life. Any and all who read her little accessories or her story will absolutely find these extremely helpful, and possibly even inspirational!

Ultimately Josefina was the last American Girl doll introduced before Mattel took over. Not to say the take over was a bad thing to happen, it primarily was just full of differences and innovations. (Even know Kit and Kaya were undergoing creation as this was happening.) Due to this, Josefina  could absolutely be seen as "one of a kind", this also raising her value overall. Josefina is really a great example of what you could ideally do when life throws you a bad hand.

The Josefina Dolla really got a complete 360 creation with a new type of skin, clothes, and hair material. Not to mention the new, high quality face mold she was given, in part of her creation.

Josefina's collection of books and accessories primarily consisted of age appropriate clothes, cultural decorations, and or items for the time and day in age back then. Bare in mind, these notes and items for Josefina are barely accessible now a days. Even American Girl has stopped distributed them.
